Getting started

Squad is an AI-powered platform that allows anyone to describe a product they want to build and be guided through both a strategy on roadmap on how to build it. Users can connect real data sources to Squad that allows them to iterate on the product over time. With Squad, there is no need to hire product managers or do product work, Squad does it for you.
Simply create an account here and start by typing a prompt that describes what you want to build or are already building. Watch Squad work its magic, explore the product, and share.
Think of Squad as your product manager co-pilot. Any questions relating to customer insights, strategy, or roadmap, just ask Squad. Use Squad to develop a roadmap alongside task management tools like Notion or Linear, and then export the solutions to them or straight into your AI engineering tool such as Cursor, Lovable, or Windsurf. You can use Squad to generate a strategy and roadmap for a new product, or use it to guide you on how to iterate on an existing product.Typically, Squad is used by people building software. However, we’ve seen great use cases in other sectors such as analyst use cases across business consulting or concepting and ideation use cases in education.
A workspace will be created for you automatically after you sign up and input your first prompt. For users on our Pro plan, once you’ve already created your first workspace you can create a new one using the Workspace dropdown in the top left of the header.
  1. You tell us about your business or idea
  2. We suggest what to work on
  3. We break it into actual tasks
  4. We build it with you over time

Features & Terminology

A Squad workspace is an individual strategy and roadmap. All you data—your chat history, knowledge, goals, opportunities, and solutions—is tied to a workspace and won’t be shared across different workspaces. You can use a workspace to strategise for a full product, or if you’re more established, you can create workspaces for each team, project, etc.
Workspace knowledge is made up of relevant files, links, or text documents, that relate to the product you are building. Knowledge is referred to by your Squad everytime is makes a recommendation or answers a question. Knowledge acts like your Squad’s foundationatal database, use it to feed as much information as possible to Squad so it gives more accurate responses.
The product’s north star, a concise statement explaining why the business exists and what long-term change it aims to create.
A specific, measurable result that moves your Mission forward. It answers “What outcome do we want to achieve next?” and becomes the yard-stick for success. Even if you already have a Solution in mind, attach it to a Goal (or create a new one) so you can later prove it made a difference. Also known as OKRs or KPIs.
An unaddressed user need or pain-point, surfaced via data, feedback, or research, that (if solved) will advance the Goal. It captures the why behind any subsequent work. If you start with a Solution first, you can back-fill the Opportunity later with a brief problem statement for context. Also known as an Idea, initiative, or epic.
A high-level product change—the how—documented in a one-page brief that tackles an Opportunity and improves the Goal metric. It outlines scope, assumptions, success criteria, and expected impact. You can create a Solution even before an Opportunity is formalised (e.g., for regulatory or parity fixes); just add the missing Opportunity later to preserve traceability. Also known as a feature.
The small, actionable units of work—user stories, tickets, spikes, or tests—that turn the Solution into a shipped change. Tasks live in the delivery backlog, have clear acceptance criteria, and always roll up to their parent Solution (and thus to the linked Goal and, ideally, Opportunity).
